Jon Bernhard Vadstensvik bought Vikaneset in 1913 when it was separated from the main farm. Originally a carpenter, Jon was a master in reusing old materials. Vikaneset’s heritage speaks of a time when clipfish production was an important livelihood; it speaks of a bygone era. Vadstenvik had limited means, but by prioritising hard, he managed to buy an old building that stood on the wharf in Kristiansund. He dismantled it, rowed out all the materials, and carefully reconstructed it. This was the first of many building buildings to come.
