Did you know that the first commercial cruise along the Norwegian coast left from Kristiansund harbour? On 25th July 1875 Cooks Travel Agency carried passengers for the first time from here and headed northwards towards the North Cape and the Midnight Sun.
Today Kristiansund is a popular and up-to-date cruise destination, always striving to keep abreast of the times. In spring 2006 Kristiansund harbour opened its brand new ISPS-approved cruise quay, with a total length of 366 metres, big enough to take the very largest cruise vessels. Ships are moored along the town’s most central quay and traffic artery with a shopping mall of 50 shops facing out onto the quay. The sights of the town and its commercial centre are in close proximity. Within the ISPS perimeter fence passengers are ensured a safe embarkation and debarkation, as well as handy parking for buses on the quay. Due to the town’s status as the main service base for the oil and gas industry in Central Norway, Kristiansund is able to offer a full range of services.
With over 130 years of experience we are determined to maintain our position as one of the leading cruise destinations in Norway.
