The
Atlantic Road was originally planned as a stretch of railway, which came to
nothing. Car enthusiasts, and the rest of us, can be glad of that today. It’s
accessible all year round both for visitors and for those making advertising
films.
Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Peugeot,
Suzuki, Renault, Honda, Yamaha, Alfa Romeo, Ford and the haulage company
Schenker (transportselskap): These are some of those that have filmed their
advertisements on the Atlantic Road.
No surprise, then, that the British
newspaper “The Guardian” has declared the Atlantic Road to be the world’s most
beautiful car journey.
