Rindal is the only one of the municipalities in Møre and Romsdal that does not have direct access to the sea. This typical forest and mountain district lies farthest to the east of the municipalities making up Nordmøre. It borders on Sør-Trøndelag to the north, east and south, and Surnadal to the west.

Communication:
Bus service to Orkdal, Trondheim, Surnadal and on to Kristiansund, Molde and Sunndal. Highway 65 passes Orkdal on the way to Trondheim and is an alternative to the E39.

Population: 2.100.

Administrative centre:
Rindal with its council offices, shopping centre, garage, shops, doctor and dentist, bank and school.

Attractions:
· Rindal Museum, with a special section on skis and skiing, café and extensive collection of forestry and farming exhibits. The museum consists of twelve buildings; Løsetlåna dates back to the 17th century.
· Many delightful marked trails in to the Trollheimen mountain range for both summer and winter activities.

Tourism/trade/services:
Posting station in buildings constructed in the traditional local style, accommodation and restaurants with function rooms. Guesthouse and camping sites, with cabins for hire. Shopping centre and several specialist shops, bank, etc, in the centre of Rindal. Garage on Highway 65, east of Bolme and at Rindalsskogen.
